BMT Brings Insight to Superyacht UK Technical Seminar

BMT naval architect Alex Meredith-Hardy and senior mechanical engineer Paul Shallcross recently shared the depth of their knowledge with over 110 delegates of the Superyacht UK (SYUK) Technical Seminar.

Held at the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show on the 12th of January the seminar focused on technical and forthcoming regulatory matters affecting the design and build of superyachts including the Passenger Yacht Code, MARPOL, the Large Yacht Code and the Maritime Labour Convention.

Alex Meredith-Hardy presented the opening slot with a summary of recent experiences in the development of large yachts to the Passenger Yacht Code, an area where BMT Nigel Gee has been very active. Later in the day Paul Shallcross presented insight into the technical challenges faced when developing an exhaust system and machinery arrangement to meet Tier III emission limits.

Tom Chant, International Development Manager for Superyacht UK commented, “We were very pleased to have had BMT Nigel Gee participate in the technical seminar, their contribution brings significant insight into some of the most topical aspects facing the industry today.”
