Chief Flying Sun was designed and built in the early 1990's for Sir David Brown of Aston Martin. BMT Nigel Gee undertook the complete design from concept to detail design.
The yacht is of catamaran configuration featuring a passive hydrofoil support system. A single fixed foil is located near the centre of gravity spanning between the demihulls. Twin smaller foils are located at the transom to allow for optimisation of running trim.
The yacht was built in composite consturction by T-Craft in South Africa and achieved 40 knots on trails.
